A Common sense design!
Baskets, when stacked, rest all along the top perimeter, providing overall sidewall structural support. They interlock with each other, preventing the sidewall from distorting in or out, and feature complete perimeter support just like the old style mig-welded baskets, but at a substantial savings in labor. Less expensive, but well proven pressure welding is used, providing for a competitively priced product. In most situations, baskets will stack with the competition. Available in SS304, SS330, Inconel 600, and HR120.
Figure 1: The ears will locate between the radius rods and the runner or corss rods, essentially interlocking the sidewalls in one position. Under heat, the path of expansion for this basket is upward not outward, therefore further reducing sidewall distortion.

and under support than conventional designs.
