Grids, fixtures and racks

Pin fixtures:
  1. These are designed to rack a part vertically by fitting it over an upright pin.
  2. Pin sizes can be 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 7/16", 3/8" rod diameter. Overall pin height has been as low as 3/4" up to 5".
  3. Pin tops can be safety welded.
  4. We need to allow +/- 1/16" between part ID and pin.
  5. We require the part or a CAD drawing of the part.
  6. Fixtures can be made to stack. Please check!

Two tier racking fixture:
  1. This is designed to rack a part vertically by supporting the outside of the part with two tiers of space cloth on the high and low ends of the part.
  2. Open sizes of mesh should be 1/8" larger than the OD of the part.
  3. In most cases the part will not touch each other.
  4. We require the part or a CAD drawing of the part.
  5. Fixtures can be made to stack. Please check!

The picture below is a blown up section of the fixture shown above. Notice the various size parts that are racked vertically. Quite often these fixtures are designed for the heat treater's customers. Their customers rack up their own parts at their own plant and then send them for heat treatment. The heat treater saves the racking expense and their customer is the only one touching the parts, therefore minimizing chance of part damage.
