Miscellaneous Basket Information
Pictured below is a common design that is in the marketplace.
Baskets stack by way of ears. Generally there are only eight ears per basket
giving only eight points of contact on the entire surface area of the basket
when stacked.
Pictured here is a mig welded design basket.
Picture here baskets for an Ipsen furnace. Baskets slide
along the hearth floor pushed and pulled by dogs. They require a full flat bar
pusher pad along the width of the basket on both ends. Pads are available in
many sizes, common sizes are 3/16"x1-1/2" and a heavier 3/8"x2". Standard sizes
are 22x34 (T-4), 27x46 (T-7) and 34x46 (T-11).
Below are Beavermatic baskets. They require cast or
fabricated hooks and a flatbar plate on one end only. The baskets are pushed
into the furnace on the plate, and pulled out via the hooks. Standard sizes are
28x47 and 24x36.
